Fundamentals Of Auditorium Acoustics
I will try to introduce the points one by one , starting from the very very basic fundamentals.:-
1) FAULT in Basic Auditorium Building Design :-
Knowledge on Acoustics is available since last " MANY DECADES ".
so, why is it that even till today so many educational institutions,( Schools, colleges,etc ) and many other pvt and public auditorium projects going wrong acoustically at the design stage ????????.( include even religious institutions. )
This basic design FAULT snatches away a lot of design freedom in the design and decor of " INTERNAL ACOUSTICAL TREATMENT " which is to be done when the auditorium building is ready.
If properly designed an auditorium will not " NEED " " ANY " " ACOUSTICAL TREATMENT " inside the auditorium ( Except the STAGE AREA )
( This can SAVE a LOT of cost )
You "may " be able to do with a little less powerful sound system , ( Which again may save you some money. )
Is it happening because the concerned architects and structural designers are in some illusion of acoustics, not really having a very clear idea about what they are trying to achieve ?????????
Is it because acoustics remain a confusing knowledge full of details, like various frequencies,various wave lengths,seconds, and milliseconds, complicated logarithmic formula's,and such complicated huge GLOSSARY. ................ ??????????.
which leads to a hurried conclusion " Let us first finish the building construction...................
The internal acoustics will be taken care of by the acoustic consultant " SYNDROME.
( Unknowingly you have chopped off the possibility of creative acoustics inside the auditorium.Unknowingly a murder is committed. )
And all this JUST because nobody is writing a clear & simple book on auditorium acoustics.
My mind blowing CLEAR IDEAS are available at nominal cost for such an initial design stage .
( I am not interested in any free discussions on acoustics ) ( No discussion on internal acoustics at this stage )
The Entire purpose of an auditorium is to provide an " AUDIO - VISUAL - SHOW " to a Maximum Number Of People at a time .
Also we wish that those who have seen the programme, go out and spread the good word about the comforts,the acoustics,the visuals, the programme itself,etc,etc
so a huge sunami of audience gets ready to have a " DEKKO " of the programme.

Acoustical society of India started in 1971.................................................................................................. ( we are lagging by 42 years ).
